Assignments:

Please bring one blue book for each midterm and two blue books for the final. Your 5-7 page paper for this class should be typed, proof-read for spelling and grammar, double-spaced in a 10 or 12 point font, and have approximately one-inch margins. It will be due at the beginning of class on Tuesday December 5th. Late papers will be marked down one full grade. To pass the class, you must turn in the paper, participate in a group presentation and take all three exams.


Grades: Your final grade will be determined according to the following

Midterm 1   (15%)
Midterm 2   (10%)
5-7 Page Paper   (20%)
Group Presentation   (20%)
Attendance and Participation   (10%)
Final Exam   (25%)


Policies: You should be aware of the two following policies.

1: Class attendance is compulsory: any student who is absent for five or more classes runs the risk of failing the course.

2: Academic dishonesty, i.e. cheating or plagiarism (allowing or causing the reader to believe that other people's words or ideas are your own), will result in referral to Student Judicial Affairs and can also result in failure of the course.
