English 3. Introduction to Literature (4) I, II, III. The Staff (Chairperson
in charge) Lecture--2 hours; discussion--2 hours. Prerequisite: completion of
Subject A requirement. Introductory study of several genres of English literature,
emphasizing both analysis of particular works and the range of forms and styles
in English prose and poetry. Frequent writing assignments will be made. GE credit:
ArtHum, Wrt (cannot be used to satisfy a college or university composition requirement
and GE writing experience simultaneously).
