Connecting to Computer Classroom Folders from Your Office or Home
Don Meisenheimer

If you use a PC in your office and would klie to connect remotely to your computer classroom in Olson or Hart Hall using SmartFTP, please download instructions here.
If you use a Mac in your office and would like to connect remotely to your computer classroom in Olson or Hart Hall using Fetch, please download instructions here.
In either case, of course, I am also available to meet with you and show you the process. You can also find a few notes on Connecting to Mac and PC Class Folders using the Computer Lab Managment site.
Two important notes on connecting remotely:
1) The FTP address for the servers in Olson is lm-ol2.ucdavis.edu. Be sure that you are typing the letter "l" and not the number "1," and that you don't put an @ before "ucdavis.edu" but a dot instead. Also, remember that upstairs and downstairs Olson have now been combined; you will see both when you make a connection to the server.
2) You can download an FTP Client from a variety of places. For example, you can find Fetch and SecureFX via MyUCDavis at UCD Resources --> Software --> and then search for relevant program. On the other hand, Cyberduck and SmartFTP have their own sites.
